Under the leadership of the Assistant Vice President of Budget Planning & Analysis, the department oversees budget development, financial analysis, and campus-wide fiscal planning to align resources with institutional priorities. BPA is responsible for managing the university's central budget, coordinating budget operations, and leading the transition to the Questica budget system to enhance transparency and efficiency.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:LEADERSHIP & SUPERVISION

  • Provide strategic direction and operational oversight to ensure the department's effectiveness and alignment with institutional goals.
  • Foster a culture of excellence by providing clear guidance, training, and mentorship to staff.
  • Lead the campus-wide transition to the Questica budget system, streamlining budget planning and enhancing financial transparency.
  • Strengthen fiscal stewardship through continuous process improvements, data-driven decision-making, and cross-campus collaboration.BUDGET PLANNING
    • Contribute to short- and long-term financial planning and conduct quarterly all-funds financial reviews.
    • Execute the approved annual operating budget by maintaining a clear budget timeline and ensuring accurate submission of budget plans.
    • Lead the annual FIRMS submission and manage the university's central budget.
    • Conduct regular reviews and variance analyses to ensure fiscal accuracy and sustainability.BUDGET OPERATIONS
      • Manage efficient day-to-day budget operations, including processing budget transfers and payroll adjustments.
      • Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end financial activities.
      • Conduct monthly reconciliations between the Questica budget system and the financial ERP.POSITION MANAGEMENT
        • Ensure accurate creation, modification, monitoring, and reporting of all positions and their associated budgets.
        • Oversee position management to ensure compliance with standard procedures and guide projections of compensation increases.
        • Demonstrate expertise in Questica and provide training on effective utilization.TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
          • Lead comprehensive training initiatives on budgeting principles and financial analysis techniques.
          • Empower campus leaders and budget managers to make informed financial decisions.
          • Stay at the forefront of system capabilities and explore innovative ways to enhance budget planning.QUALIFICATIONS:
            • Bachelor's Degree in Business or similar field from an accredited institution.
            • Two (2) years experience supervising professional-level staff.
            • Five (5) years experience analyzing multi-fund financial data in a large organization.
            • Knowledge of budgeting processes and experience in financial strategic planning.
            • Experience in higher education administration preferred.
            • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
            • Ability to manage multiple complex projects independently.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
              • Master's Degree in Business or similar field and/or CPA is preferred.
